Kathmandu Buddhist Journey

We are at the end of our month long buddhist journey across India into Nepal. Along the way we trod in Buddha’s footsteps tracing his path and spending time at all of the most important locations in Buddha’s life. Birth, Enlightenment, Teaching and Death. Although Buddha did not reach Kathmandu, we are here filming at some beautiful Buddhist monasteries high up in the mountains. Actually it is just an excuse to spend some time in Kathmandu and relax in a really great city and soak up some Nepalese culture and meet the people. In fact, only by chance did Buddha actually visit Nepal (of course in Buddha’s time, say 500 BC, Nepal was not the country today). Buddha was born in Lumbini, just inside Nepal while his mother was travelling to another destination!
