Home of the Beijing Wushu Team

Before there was the now famous Beijing Wushu Team there was the Wushu class of Beijing Shichahai Sports School. It is here that most of worlds top Wushu performers are trained – the original and most well known coach was Wu Bin. On the opposite end, the most famous and well known student was Li Lianjie, known as Jet Li. In this old photo try and spot which two people they are.
Empty Mind Films will be here all week in Beijing at the Shichahai Sports School to film the Wushu students and particularly the main character in our new documentary, Andre Magnum, our eight year old Wushu athlete … the boy who would be Jet Li. Andre is now training at this famous school this year. We just completed a meeting with the administrators at the school to begin shooting the Wushu training – no easy feat, as this school rarely allows any cameras inside, and especially foreign ones like us!
