A Boy in China
A Boy in China. Full length movie release due in 2012.
A Boy in China is an incredible story that reads like a Hollywood summer blockbuster, except this is all the more amazing because it is real. A story of bravery and heroes and of heartbreak and joy. It is a breathtaking story that unfolds across America and down the length of China as we follow our young American boy Andre as he dreams of becoming a Kungfu master.
It is a real life drama taking place to a six year old boy from Phoenix, Arizona whose dreams of becoming a Kungfu master lead him to the very source of Kungfu – the legendary Shaolin Temple in China. His father must face a heartbreaking decision and follow his son to China leaving the mother behind in America… a choice few parents could ever imagine they would face. Meanwhile, Andre is undergoing long hours of tough training at the hands of the Shaolin monks that would make even the most seasoned martial artist wobbly at the knees. Beside the dawn to dusk kungfu training Andre must learn Chinese – not only to understand the instructors but literally to survive – to eat food, wash and sleep in the dormitory with his classmates. Fast forward to nine years of age when Andre in one giant leap, steps up his martial arts training by being accepted into China’s top wushu school in Beijing. Known as the top gun of Chinese martial arts, this wushu Academy produces many of China’s olympic gold athletes and was home for eight years to the movie star Jet Li who became world champion while at the school. However once at the Academy, Andre quickly comes unstuck when he sees the extremely high calibre of his Chinese classmates!! Two years at the Shaolin temple could not prepare him for what he must now face – a supreme test of his skills and endurance in order to graduate from this elite martial arts school. A Boy in China is set for a 2012 release. Please subscribe so we can keep you posted on this wonderful story.
