Sensei Morio Higaonna is one of the greatest living Karate instructors on the planet and needs no introduction to the many followers of martial arts, no matter the style. He was the founder and head of the IOGKF – International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation.
However in late 2022, Morio Higaonna abruptly resigned from the IOGKF to form his own organization, the TOGKF – Traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation. This left the IOGKF in the hands of Tetsuji Nakamura, the chief instructor. Since then there has been a lot of finger pointing and incriminations from both organizations to each other.

There are always two sides to an argument they say, so we are posting a link to the rebuttal statement from Sensei Tetsuji Nakamura of the IOGKF. This does remind us of the feud and the splitting up of the Japan Karate Association, JKA over twenty years ago which led to the formation of the JKS. We are sure it will not be the last one.
