Fast & Deadly Arnis with Bobby Taboada, the first of our short video series, was filmed by Empty Mind Films in the island of Negros, in the south Philippines during an Arnis seminar by Balintawak Arnis grandmaster Bobby Taboada. Balintawak Arnis, also known as Balintawak Eskrima, is a Filipino martial art developed by Grandmaster Venancio “Anciong” Bacon in Cebu, Philippines. Born in Cebu, Grandmaster Bobby Taboada has risen to become one of the most respected modern arnis master in the world.

Now living in the United States, Taboada has taken Balintawak Arnis a step further in making it more efficient in close combat using his signature speed, power, and precision together with fluid movements. He places great importance in the practical applications, using a single stick style while warding and blocking, trapping and punching with the opposite hand.
