At the Shaolin Temple, in-depth interviews take place with a number of Kung Fu masters, including 31st generation Shaolin monk She De Yang, widely considered in the martial arts community as the leading exponent of Shaolin Kung Fu and Shaolin Temple culture. She De Yang rarely leaves the temple, where his work in training new students that will one day be accepted into Shaolin Temple to become the next generation of warrior monk, is the most important role at Shaolin.

Also at Shaolin Temple we talk with 31st generation Shaolin monk She De Cheng, who travels the world spreading his vast Kung Fu knowledge and today is the founder of his own Shaolin Kung Fu school not far from the Temple.

Chinese Kung Fu is not just Shaolin Temple, and we cover the major internal martial arts of Baguazhang, Xingyiquan and Yiquan with the leading master in China. In the exciting martial art of Baguazhang we talk to Grandmaster Ma Chuanxu, who was a security officer with the revolutionary guard in the reform years. Baguazhang master He JInbao is unique in that is impeccable lineage (direct to the founder) has found him as the inheritor of Yin-style Baguazhang.

For Xingyiquan, we looked no further than Beijing Grandmaster Di Guoyong, acclaimed as the authority on this fast, direct, powerful martial art. For internal martial art fans, we saved the best for last – a rare interview and teaching class with Yiquan Grandmaster Cui Ruibin. Yiquan is a distinct, unique fighting style and the least well known of the internal styles. This visit to the Yiquan center, is worth the cost of our book alone, as you discover the martial power of the mind.

One third of Masters of Kung Fu is dedicated to Wing Chun, at the request of millions of its followers. Join us in Hong Kong as we visit the leading Wing Chun schools and their teachers and students, including Ip Ching (Ip Man’s son), Sam Lau, Donald Mak and more. Our Wing Chun journey ends at the grave of Ip Man and the Ip Man Museum in Foshan, China.
